Good Transportation, Good Trade

About 1200 years ago, people crossed the silk road, which is about 600km, from Asia to Europe and they walked or rode camels for several months or a year to do the foreign trade. This kind of story is just unimaginable as we live in a world we can go that way at only 10 hours. Nowaday, we can use various kinds of transportations such as ships, planes and rails when engaging in trade and each of them has their own advantages.

Firstly, ships are the most frequently used transportation for trade. They account for 70~80 percent for a means of the trade transportation and they are largely used for foreign trading. Not only are they relatively cheap but they are also useful when sending freight in bulk at least 40~50kg to tons of cargo at once. Trading companies use ships when they export or import crude oil, gas, iron ore, clothes, crops, cars, etc.

Another means of carrying goods is a plane in the trade business and it takes 20~30 percent. The biggest merit of the plane is speed as it is the fastest transportation in existence. It is usually used when transporting products which are small in volume and have high value such as semi-conductors or parts of electronics since the airfare is very expensive.

Lastly, people use freight rails when they carry products and they are good for domestic trading. They are cheaper than ships or planes and safe because they are not affected by the weather or environment so much. They can also carry freight in bulk and are almost free from the risk of accident.

There are three main means of transportation for trade business ; ships, planes and rails. Ships are relatively economical and carry things in bulk. Planes are really fast and good for sending products urgently. In addition, rails cost least and are realiable as we can use them regardless of the weather or the environment.
